Education Vs. Learning

I’ve taught reading and writing for the last two years. Most of the time, I find it as rigid and restrictive as any other subject.

Don’t get me wrong, and the whole focus is to prepare students for the workplace; we are preparing students to work in the mid-20 century, not the middle of the 21 century .when you look at the chart, it was evident that most of what is happening in class education, not learning. As I need to say, “ Education is done to you, “and learning is done by you. “

Teaching can be defined as an engagement with learners

as evidenced by a positive or negative change that lasts relatively long. In addition, teaching is attributed to more authority, autonomy, and expertise.

Learning Over and over, we must say to ourselves, "Teaching is a skill." Then we must understand what it takes to become skillful at this trade. Some techniques work, and those that don't. We must find the ones that do. Next, we must develop a concern for the learner by setting some objectives that tell us what we expect the learner to be able to do when we are through with this class and this quarter, and this year. Next, we must figure out ways to measure to see if these objectives are being met. Finally, we must get the students involved and excited about learning. The literature should not be depended upon to the extent that we merely let the students fill in the blanks and answer True or False. Instead, the material studied should have meaning for the students.

“ Tell me, and I forget to teach me, and I remember to involve me, and I learn.”

Benjamin franklin.
